It was a cloudy, somewhat windy and sometimes rainy Saturday. Never a good combination for so many reasons. It can be difficult to set up a booth in the middle of a parking lot on a windy day. The wind sends everything flying. The rain gets us all wet and we stay damp for the rest of the session. Miserable. But…..
Sometimes, the rain stops, the wind goes down to a lovely breeze, and the sun comes out. What started out as a slow day got very busy around 10am. People emerged from their comfy, dry spaces to brave the day and spend some time outdoors. It was a good day.

It always amazes me to see our customers coming back, week after week, to get their favorite bite, their jam, their honey, or something handmade. Not that I don’t appreciate it, I just find it astonishing that people really like the things we do. I am grateful. We work hard to bring our Homegrown Bites by Jake’s Run experience to the market. The compliments and kind words are always appreciated. Our farmers’ market is a place where everyone is welcome. It’s a community built with love and kindness. We’re proud to be a part of such an organization.

Until next week….
